How your BILECO or LEYECO bill is calculated
Electric cooperatives in Leyte and Biliran bill homes with one simple formula:kWh used × effective rate per kWh = your bill. The effective rate already includes every charge on your bill: generation, transmission, system loss, distribution, VAT and the government charges.
Example: a Biliran home that used 200 kWh, at BILECO's September 2026 rate of ₱18.93/kWh, pays about 200 × 18.93 = ₱3,786.
Why the bill changes every month
The rate itself moves. Generation and transmission costs are passed through monthly, and BILECO says generation alone is about 45% of its rate. BILECO's residential rate went from ₱12.95 in May 2026 to ₱18.34 in July. Compare your kWh month to month, not just the pesos.
Which appliances cost the most
Anything that runs for hours or heats or cools: aircon, refrigerator, water dispenser, water pump and flat iron. Switch to "From appliances" above to see your biggest users in pesos.
How solar lowers it
Solar power you use at home saves the full rate per kWh. Power you export earns a net-metering credit at your co-op's generation charge, which is lower. That's why solar pays off best for homes and businesses that use power during the day. Read our solar guides for Leyte and Biliran orget a quote based on your own bill.
Estimates only. Your bill can differ because of fixed charges, lifeline or senior citizen discounts and adjustments. Rates are residential effective rates (VAT included), checked 4 October 2026. See our BILECO rate tracker for every month and source.
